Not too long ago, there was a glitch in the iOS that caused the disablement of the carousel feature that aids us in accessing the “Select Multiple” photos feature when you go to post on Instagram. After working on a solution, Instagram’s update tweaked the way in which we create carousels. Carousels are groups of up to 10 photos and/or videos that are shown in a single post. This caused a bit of turmoil for users as the production and curation of their posts were not immediately understood by their users. 

Instructions are followed by: 

  1. In your Instagram app, select “Add Post” 

  2. Choose your first image and hold until the number 1 appears in the corner of your media

  3. You will be able to select up to 10 images and videos to post

However, it should be noted that this update is solely to fix a bug and the normal program should resume shortly displaying the “Select Multiple” button for users. 

Instagram has also launched new Insights for Reels that challenges its TikTok competitors. Due to these tools that give businesses and creators essential data about the reach of their content, Reels has begun to catch up with their rivals that also offer detailed analytics. This competition then begins to aid influencers and small businesses in bolstering their income. 

Before this, Instagram users and primarily Reels content creators, were only able to view publicly available metrics like views, likes, or comments. Now Reels can access data such as Accounts Reached, Saves and Shares. It also shares the number of most concurrent viewers that have watched your live videos. 

This application has also begun to show in the account insights the breakdowns of accounts that the user is reaching and what content formats are generating the most engagement.
