2021's Most Empowering Podcasts

Written by Trinity Duong

Podcasts are an unlikely joy that many can dismiss due to the perception that they are not as stimulating due to the lack of visual components. However, with the rise of at-home work due to the pandemic many episodes can serve as background noise that feeds you knowledge about the current day. They can be the root to rebranding and realigning yourself for 2021

There are quite a lot of podcasts that have come out in 2020 and reflecting on the knowledge they have offered and applying it in the new year will ultimately aid in the discovery of new phases for your everyday life. Surprisingly, the podcasts that offer the most information also transport you to a laughable and useful discussion that can bring on new aspects for conversation between your community.

Creators all around have presented the trials of uncertain journeys in a comforting manner. With the ups and downs of 2020, the focus of podcasts has been to dissect and analyze how to respond to the environment we are all a part of. Below is a compilation of podcasts that have served as insight for the development and evolvement of the year.

1) We The Women by We The Women Media

We The Women is a podcast all about empowering women to grow in their personal and professional livelihoods. The host, Margarita Lyadova, interviews a broad range of incredible women that touch on the life stories, experiences, and advice that they have to offer. Recently our own Brand’s Media Group founder, Sharon Brand, was interviewed about her personal growth in the communications and social media industry and how her objectives and profession have affected her and her team at Brand’s Media Group. Specific topics touched upon are success stories about small businesses, fighting against social injustices, the do’s and don’ts about networking and so much more including dating and different professional fields such as art and design. Lyadova brings on a new meaning for feminism in the professional world and inspires listeners to brand themselves according to their unlimited power.

2) Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain

It’s no secret Emma Chamberlain has reinvented the social media game with her involvement and collaborations with all sorts of fields of interest. She has captured the hearts of many young women hoping to achieve the level of success and joy that Chamberlain has. This raw and intimate podcast talks just about anything (hence the name) and touches a lot on her learning lessons when rising to fame in this world. Due to her vast experience, these podcasts allow for listeners to get a grip on what these fields of work entail and how to act accordingly to the situation whether it’s saying no to an offer that seems too good to be true or simply finding yourself and making sure not lose it within this industry. A lot of topics of interest you will find are of course professional activities but also personal growth such as coming from a family of divorce, deleting social media, becoming overtly anti-social, and so forth.

Chamberlain brings you her personal experiences and how she’s overcome a lot of hardships. Being so young and thrown into an industry so quickly she helps others adjust to the pace and expresses the mishaps that may come with intertwining personal life with professional life.

3) Human To Human by Jessica McDonald

Jessica McDonald offers a vulnerable space to connect on a deeper level with her audience. The sharing of experiences whether difficult or not has brought people closer in connection. She finds that navigating the chaotic world as a young person can be overwhelming and anxiety-inducing but she fights against these narratives by expressing that you are not alone in this battle. Intentional conversations help one another by becoming our true and authentic selves and this is something McDonald offers her listeners in her deep dive stories with guests about love, loss, and triumph. Later in January, this podcast will also feature our Brand’s Media Group founder, Sharon Brand, and her stories and experiences.

Remaining informed about our sensitivities and ambitions we learn a lot about how to overcome many hardships in our lives. With podcasts offering insightful and real experiences and lessons, life can take a much easier turn when we tune in.
