Social Media Goals You Should Focus On

Written by Trinity Duong

Social media has transformed from its all encapsulating candid captures to a viable marketing channel over the years. When you combine it with your websites, blogs, vlogs, and more you can accomplish so much and build a sturdy platform in which to promote yourself and/or your business. As the value of social media goes up, the design of a social media strategy becomes a clear focus that more should pull their attention towards.

Often many brand’s strategies don’t create compelling storylines that set them apart from the rest of the algorithm. Even so, different platforms are always rewriting algorithms and prioritizing different engagements and that's why it’s becoming more and more difficult to see the results that are expected. With the overabundance of social media content often it doesn’t fortify together as an effective marketing tool and that’s why it’s important to have a more specific objective.

Here are some brand awareness social media goals that you should focus on to expand your network and connections:

1) Brand Awareness

Brand awareness constitutes the extent to which consumers are familiar with the qualities or images of a particular brand of goods or services. It’s very important that your social media are all being applied through the scope of reach and impressions. Reach refers to the number of unique people who see your content and impressions are the total number of times your content was displayed. Social media needs approximately seven impressions in the span of eighteen months to move a consumer’s mind. Therefore getting one specific image in front of more people should not be the end goal but rather a multitude of different content for a unique buyer. Awareness takes time and consistency.

2) Community Engagement

Examples of community engagement are projects that provide a service or product to an individual, group or community. Within social media it is a strategic process that identifies groups of people connected to reach long-term and sustainable outcomes or processes. What attracts this engagement is the content therefore it’s important to value and listen to your audience and their preferences.

3) Followers

When someone new follows you you must be aware that this was a clear conscious choice in order to consume the content you create on a regular basis. Its important to adhere to this kind of trust and show them your values and message as many visitors can be turned away from investing in your work based on what you do or don’t promote.

4) Traffic

Keeping an eye on how much traffic you get through Insights or other methods will help you identify your best post that generates more attention therefore you will know what to keep and what to leave behind.

5) Lead Generation

Although Lead Generation may fall under different stages of methodology than brand awareness as a whole it is still something to keep in mind. With Brand Awareness, you will attract strangers to visit your sites, however, with Lead Generation your goal is to attract visitors and turn them into leads.

6) Revenue

The social media goal for every business is to create revenue and so, in the context of social media, it means turning a follower into a paying customer. With more social media adding shopping onto their sites and applications generating revenue has been easier than ever as it is just a click away. Facebook Marketplace and Instagram Shopping are examples of this.
