Prospection Tips to Overcome Challenges in Entrepreneurship
There are many directions that 2020 has stirred us into whether it being good or bad or a simple yet boring middle ground and with the dramatic beginnings of 2021 it feels although we will never catch a break. We fixate so much on a prospering new year however we let small little blips of negativity judge the rest of our abilities. In this article we are jumping into Sharon Brand’s tips that she’s acquired through her experience as a small business owner. The founder of Brand’s Media Group gives insightful and powerful tools on balancing the stress of unforeseen challenges.
Coming from a small business owner how do you keep from harnessing negativity when you’re faced with challenges?
As a small business owner, it has definitely been a challenge keeping up with the rollercoaster of what is entrepreneurship. You can get hit with bad news a minute, and good news the next. It’s all about staying on track with why you started your business and what is the pure mission you hold in your professional life.
When I’m faced with a challenge, it could go two ways. 1. I could let myself and the entire business crumble by only thinking about this one bad thing that occurred, OR, 2. I could get back on my two feet, keep the team motivated, and just continue doing what I love most, helping businesses grow their community in the long term, on social media networks. It’s also hard to believe there is light at the end of the tunnel when you are faced with a situation of despair. However, with perspective and by taking a step back, you will realize it all happened for a reason and all that occurs is here to lead you into a path that is meant for you to be in.
How do you keep yourself as well as your team motivated and balanced during rough times, for example during the pandemic?
By giving the team responsibilities and independence, I believe they can stay motivated and balanced during these tough times. This pandemic has hit everyone. EVERYONE. And so I listen. I am emphatic with my team members and to myself also. Sometimes, being kind is what really matters. You just have to make sure everyone is ok and that’s what I’ve been doing since the start of BMG 7 months ago.
Do you have any prospect tips and how do you utilize them in Brand’s Media Group?
Losing clients is very real in this business because not every brand has the budget for marketing and communication, which is understandable in the case of a worldwide pandemic. And so, we have to get into prospection more and more.
Even though prospection could be done in plenty of different ways, brainstorming with your team about what the best strategy is best to take is very important. Everyone will have their own visions and perspective so it’s very significant to listen to others. You can focus on Facebook groups, find people on LinkedIn and connect with them. Cold colds are also one that is a traditional way but that works well: send out this DM on Instagram, this private message on FB, this email to the brand you really want to help out.
One way or another, being a fearless networker pays off.
