Meet Jasmine Bellini

Written by Trinity Duong

Focused on the inner workings of Brand’s Media Group, today's article we'll feature an interview with one of the communications group community manager Jasmine Bellini. It is an in-depth expose on one of view four employees that discuss future aspirations as well as the path that inspired the Brand’s Media Group connection.

Jasmine Bellini is Brand’s Media Group’s Community Manager. She was born and raised in west Montreal, Quebec. She would describe her childhood as fulfilling with many good memories and different experiences. Looking at her parents for inspiration she knew when she was younger that she saw herself in graduate school for marketing because of her father’s entrepreneurial and advertising work. Her professional and eager work ethic stems from her father while her emotional kind and giving labor comes from her mother. Supported constantly she knew that if she put work into it that her parents would always be on board.

Bellini began her academic education at École International Marie de France, a Montreal-based school from France, and switched to an English school for elementary. John Rennie was a school that specialized and focused on sports and this is where she found her love for soccer. Her ambition was characterized in her love for soccer and she took it very seriously at school as well as outside of school practices. Not quite fond of the academic mix with sports, Jasmine had a distaste for the social construct that her school confined her to. Therefore her continuation into Cegep at Dawson College was also met with a bit of friction due to the similar sense and continuation of high school. Quebec is the only province that has Cegep so when entering university at McGill she found it difficult to place herself.

However, Jasmine overcame this when she moved into the upper residence hall at her university. There she studied economics and communication and she’d characterize these years of her life as the “happy times” and a place where she had flourished as her being. Independence took over in every way and she became well versed in her experience as a student and academic excellence. One of her favorite memories from school is after she failed her 1st economics exam in her second year. It is then that she knew that she had to get her work together and studied incredibly hard to understand all the different concepts. She worked closely with her professor and by her second exam, she had gone from a fail to a 90.

After graduation, she went on to work for two years in fine jewelry and this sparked her interest in fashion and luxury goods. Bellini worked closely with the head designer at the company and learned a lot from his extensive history with luxury jewelry and creative minds. The designer offered many different perspectives and input in pieces that we see today. This played a very defining role in her future career path.

Her entire life spent in Montreal had made Jasmine outgrow the city. She is forever connected to the people and connections she made there but needed to explore different grounds. Bellini wanted a place where she could stand on her own two feet. The fine jewelry sector encouraged her to want to level up and she decided to look into masters programs. As she was gearing up for Neoma Business school in Paris, she looked for french inspiration and came across many bloggers from Paris including Sharon Brand, the founder of Brand’s Media Group. Jasmine followed her Instagram and BrandTravels and when Sharon posted a job opening in May something in her told her to connect. Her greatest accomplishment is paving her way to Paris herself. She worked three jobs, jewelry company from 9 to 6, SSENSE from 7 to midnight, and Brand’s Media Group. She is incredibly passionate about social media as it offers a creative space to reinvent yourself and meet new people. Jasmine is inspired by Brand’s Media Group because she believes the agency encompasses the way she sees the world.

Today you can find Jasmine Bellini in Paris, France at Neoma Business school. Her future aspirations hope to follow intersections between her two passions of luxury marketing and social media.
