Jasmine and BMG: Farewell
Written by Noyonika Sircar
With new adventures around the corner, BMG’s beloved Community Manager, Jasmine awaits her new chapter in her life. Coming from Canada, Jasmine took a leap of faith when she picked Paris for her education, and with the same trust, she warmed up to work at BMG, alongside her academic pursuits. Being with BMG for over 6 months and see it nurture amidst the new changes taking over the world every day, Jasmine has worked closely with the founder Sharon to give BMG a solid shape and voice in the social media sphere to land up to where it is today. Jasmine takes over her new path from June and before she leaves, she takes us all for a little walk down the memory lane of BMG.
1. Since you have finished working with BMG and you have also been there to see it develop, how do you see BMG from what it was and what it is today?
From the beginning until now, BMG has grown so much, from the clients we work with to the businesses, to establishing its values and missions, visions, internal processes, everything is so much smoother, grown so much from the inception. I got here two months after it started and until now, I see the clients are aligned with who we are as a brand and how we take social media as space and they understand what we are trying to do. We are really able to work with people who believe in what we believe in, to keep growing with us.
2. What motivated you all the way? Can you share some experiences of fallbacks and achievement personally with BMG, through the pandemic
In terms of motivation, because social media is such a constantly changing space with new features and it had kept me motivated throughout. Also, Sharon is such a motivated person, filled with passion. When you are working with someone who is so motivated, you can feed on each other especially on days, when I don’t know what to do, it keeps me going and brings out the best in me. It was difficult navigating around the pandemic in February, March since we were losing out on clients and the budget, as mostly we were working with small businesses typically hand in hand. It was frustrating and demotivating but it was a sign of the time! Now, looking back on it, we still did have clients and we are growing. In terms of achievements, my confidence was grown so much and it will help me navigate my business world in the future, learning so much from each one every day
3. What was the biggest challenge with social media expanding overnight ?
I think the biggest challenge with social media expanding so quickly, is that people want to expand quickly with it. Social media takes time and yes there are people who blow up overnight, but the hard truth is it takes time and consistency with community and brand, and it takes a lot of work. That is why we are here as an agency! We work organically, not by buying followers, keeping true to ourselves, following the ways we believe in achieving success, and having clients aligned with that vision.
4. How would you define the BMG community?
BMG community has grown with us. When we started there were 30 followers and now there are 750! It is a space for goal-setters, business agencies, people with passion who work every day to make their dreams come true. Also, a space where other social media agencies can connect with us and creating values. We love to learn from other people, an open spirit because we love to work with anybody at any time!
5. What are your key takeaways from BMG?
I worked very directly with Sharon and the way Sharon approaches things are in a very kind way. When social media world can be very phony and fake, but the way Sharon takes over her work in a kind and loving way is admirable. When you are with someone who lives and breathes in positivity along with an open and loving mindset it inspires you. It's okay to be soft and kind and at the same time a vicious businesswoman at the same time, I will take this with me!
6. Tell us in three words about your future endeavors
Hoping to break into the world of hard luxury, I will go about pursuing that in a relentless, passionate way and I won’t stop until I reach where my heart desires.
“Working with BMG has been an incredible experience! I have made friends and learned every day much. I have been too lucky to have this experience, I can’t wait to see where the company goes.”
We will miss you, Jasmine!
